Building the HOTPEC Orphanage Kitchen, Dining Hall & Bakery

In April 2008, the HOIM Board of Directors determined to assist our partner in ministry - HOTPEC Orphanage located in Buea, Cameroon - by constructing a kitchen, dining hall and bakery for the institution. Our goal was to complete this endeavor as a single project, within 18 months.

By God's grace, a major phase of the plan was completed when the new HOTPEC kitchen and dining hall were dedicated in December 2008. Our desire is to complete construction on the next phase - the bakery - in 2011.

In working with the management team at HOTPEC, we have determined that a bakery will provide an opportunity for children and volunteers to engage in a self-supporting and self-sustaining venture, through which the children will learn a trade and contribute positively to the local community.
