The Solomon Nfor Gwei Ministerial Training Awards (SNG Awards)
The SNG Awards are named for Dr. Solomon Nfor Gwei, the late Chairman of the United Nations National Commission on Human Rights and Freedoms of Cameroon. In keeping with Dr. Gwei's attitude of celebrating the unity of the church in its varied denominational expressions, the SNG Awards are open to all who can apply – regardless of denominational affiliations. Applicants must show proof of a calling to the ministry, and must indicate how the Award will enhance their service to the Lord and to His people. Awards range in size from $200 – $1,000 per awardee, depending on the documented need of the applicants and the availability of funds.
The SNG Awards are presented to individuals in the Republic of Cameroon who have accepted God's call to be ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Awards are designed to enhance these ministers’ service to the Lord and His people by providing general operating support to their ministries. Awardees may use the Awards however they see fit, as long as their proposed use is tied to the furthering of God’s kingdom. Although the Awards program is currently limited to Cameroon, HOIM envisions expanding the program in the future to cover general operating support costs for ministers and their ministries all around the world. Priority is given to ministers who have served and/or are currently serving in a local church or parachurch for at least 2 years, and whose call to the ministry, personal integrity and commitment to building God's kingdom are unquestionable.
Awardees are selected by the Awards Committee of the HOIM Board of Directors.
